Another 'doctorate' in the works for 'educational leadership.'
This is a weekend, correspondence, and online degree plan which was originally intended for high school administrators and principals, but now is becoming more common at public and lower tiered universities. (Dr. Savoie has one from Columbia.)
My neighbor just completed her doctorate in 'educational leadership' while teaching 3rd grade ... she is ambitious and smart and a good option for her. (She made all A's.)
Administrators with the traditional researched based, full-time - PhD's are still dominated at the more elite academic institutions.
I think LSU's new President also has an 'educational doctorate.'
I guess there is a trend toward more business savy in leadership than scholarship, although I believe scholars can be good business people if surrounded by the right support staff.
