Hicks seems a little streaky but he was on fire last week. We're going to need him on his A game Tuesday and go as many innings as possible
Cajuns getting a little love on WWL radio news and sports this morning as they gave scores about the LSU winning and of course UL Lafayette winning 2-0. Been a long time since I heard a WWL broadcast giving our score without some New Orleans tie in. I recall they did it for the great Lamar led teams in the early seventies and not since.
My cousin is a Major League scout and he never really says much to me about it, but he did mention Regan Bazar by name.
Of course he did say that they had a bunch that he was looking at on this Cajun team.
I don't think there is any doubt that the performance of our athletes in all sports over the last few months now makes us the No. 1 mid major athletic program in Louisiana. In fact, I would say that is the case throughout the mid south as we have accomplished more than any mid major in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. The folks in Ruston, Monroe, and uptown Louisiana know this but they are not ready to admit it publicly. For the average Joe in Louisiana to recognize this we will need to finish the diamond sports strong and do it again next athletic year. Still, nice to hear WWL giving us some recognition.
