    Roy Ebron, one of the greatest players in Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball history, will become the sixth Ragin' Cajuns player and ninth overall member of the program to be inducted into the Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame during the Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches 40th Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, May 3 at the Embassy Suites Hotel (4914 Constitution Ave.) in Baton Rouge.

    Those were the days. Notice how much bigger the kids are today with nutrition, and weight training. In those days there was still the fear of being muscle bound. Even football players had just started hitting the weights heavily.

    If I recall correctly Alvin Roy and LSU were the first to truly adopt a weight training programs which led to the success of LSU and a national championship. They were also one of the first to adopt different teams for different specialties, the Go team, White team, and the Chinese Bandits as a point of pride for the players not starting.

    Roy, thanks for the memories, you were always and will always be one of my favorite Cajuns. You , Lamar, and the rest got us to the NCAA and created the first feeling of being big time with a vengeance.
