Thread: UL seek to forget loss, get ready for McNeese

  1. Default UL seek to forget loss, get ready for McNeese

UL — For the first time this year, Louisiana's baseball team shouldered a loss when they boarded a bus Sunday. The Ragin' Cajuns dropped a 5-4 decision at new Sun Belt Conference member Texas-Arlington in the final game of a three ...

The Brokeback Cowboys aren't even commenting about it on their message board, at least not publicly. And they won't unless we drop a game to them. It's been total silence from the backers of BBJC in all of our contests. But we all know they are double naught spy trolling here. Try as they might they just can't quit UL.

You know what Hammer? I like to visit and read several other message boards of some of the other schools in the state and the area, just to see what they are saying and get a feel for what they have going on. I rarely post, but like to spy!

It is amazing how some of the message boards such as McNeese and LA Tech, among others, used to be constantly filled with derogatory comments about UL and the Cajuns. However, for some strange reason, some of these boards now barely have any traffic, much less any comments about UL. What do you think has happened? Although I don't expect anyone from some of those institutions to admit it, they all now realize that the sleeping giant has risen and they are all playing second fiddle to UL and have very little, if any, chance of catching us as long as we continue to do what we are doing.

It is great to be a Cajun!

Oh yeah, I also have my double naught spy trench coat, wayfarers and secret decoder ring. You know the butthurt is huge when they won't even acknowledge what is happening here after decades of dismissing UL and our ambitions.

Well, over in BrokeBack land, other than when UL or Alice Shoe travels there, most BBs drive a little west down Ryan Street and watch Barbe HS. Ditto for hoax and WMHS. Probably out drawn by HS teams.

The landscape of college sports is changing in our state. Alice Shoe will always be Alice Shoe, abet weaker as long as Saban is around. Tech is still blue tarped and trying to live down their Indy gaff. Tulane is building a new stadium less than half the size of what they now have.

Grambling, Nicholls, SU, the hoax and UNO on life support. SLU has basically become the new UNO. Northwestern State, well, we all need a place to wiz between here and Shreveport. They're larger than ULM and get no respect even up there.

And we're just cruising along. Never thought I'd see the day we'd be bummed to be ranked #2 or #3 in a major sport...

This is another big game, as was the game against this same McNeese State team after the loss to UNO. Let's see if we can bounce back again. Also, I'd like to see Hicks go a bit further tonight if he's got his stuff. If I remember correctly, he did not pitch this past weekend.

We need to be very careful. Southern Miss. got lax and you see how they fell quickly and hard. They will be back, but it will not be like Auburn laying low for a couple of years and winning another pseudo national championship when they decide to.

Make special note that I stated, "as long as we continue doing what we are doing"! Otherwise, you are exactly correct.
