My typical schedule back then - commute for 40 minutes, go to classes at 8, 9, 10, & 11 a.m., commute another 40 minutes, work from 1:00 to 6:00, commute 40 minutes to play intramural basketball or floor hockey, or attend a basketball game, brews at Bike Rack, Keg, JR's, etc., commute 40 minutes, study, do it again tomorrow. Then work on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (by the way - it was dirty, sweaty, greasy hard labor - not sitting behind a computer or sitting behind a cash register and reading a book most of the time)

Some semesters I was fortunuate to schedule 5 classes all on MWF. Then I would work from 2:00 - 6:00 on those days and 6:00 - 6:00 on TuThSa.

I am now 46 and I'm sure that only a handful of students could keep up with me. _
we should all strive to do this...sorry i let you down dude

I just want to thank all 50 season ticket holders for showing up. Don't fuss at just the students, there were many empty season ticket holder seats.

I went to a "RAGE IN THE CAGE" GAME AT THE Cage Dome about 20 years ago. Forget who we played but remember the name.

Glad to see that you even noticed that we outnumbered the students. BUt the fact is you are arguing that the students will show up when the season really kicks off, after school is out, etc. But the fact is that last year, at the end of the season, there was very little fans in the student section or sitting behind the goal. And if I remember right we were on a pretty good winning streak and fighting for the SBCW title. I will give it to the guys who are always there and standing behind the cheerleaders. They don't miss many games. But the students in general do a poor job of attending games for the entire season. In fact, it has been that way for a few years now.

BTW....For the student crying about all the class work he has.....I graduated from UL in 2004 and I didn't have any problems with attending football, baseball, and basketball events and maintaining a good GPA. If you are struggling with time management in school, you may have a tough time after you graduate. You tend to have a little more on your plate.

I'm a season ticket holder but I sit in the student section, so it's my fault that the other side looked empty.

And what was it you graduated in? I'm not calling you out or anything but it is common knowledge that some majors require ALOT more work than others. Engineering is a ton of work... also any Visual Arts majors are constantly doing projects... so I don't think you can fairly say that you know what students are going through. However, I am a student and I don't miss a game.. so have no fear.. there are still some students out there that are die hards.. I've been going to games since I was a kid.. I'd go with my brothers when they were students and sit with them.. I know how great the student section used to be. I have a feeling the more we start winning, the more students will come.. give it time. I have a strong feeling that the dome will be packed by mid-season. This team has a ton of talent and they were on a roll last year.. they will carry it over to this year and have the same attitude. After we beat Tennessee and LSU on the road crowds will be gigantic.

Okay "Rage Cage" get your buddies! Get your girlfriend! Get your Roomie to the game! The students that were at the game last night were very vocal but 300 students from a University of 17,000 students is weak. School is out, no more tests, get a dome foam and support the Bball team that is looking pretty damn good right now.

Man we had a blast last night, not a great turnout but the people who did are loud and are always there. If this team keeps winning, especially by this amount (wishful thinking), but winning none the less, the crowd will come, it always does. Happened at the end of last year.

How about "The Swamp People"? I think it would be great! It would also go great with Cajun Field. We could also use Troy Landry's line on T-Shirts. "Aww, (opponent that night) can't shoot!"

How about a few students actually show up to the game before we name the section? So far it's better than last year but still pretty bad.....
