In regards to Ferguson, Coach Lee cannot be held responsible for his eligibility issues as he was not at this school while trying to become eligible. Personally I think the transfers and JUCO's we got was due to the contacts of the recruiting coordinator, Coach Steadman. We focused there as we needed big men and mid majors have a terribly difficult time getting big guys from the high school ranks. I suspect we will have some more high school guys coming on board in the next recruiting batch.

IMHO this is a make or break year for Lee. Another .500 season and you will see a lot of his support erode. _
I think everyone involved with this program would be disappointed with a 0.500 season.

Personally, I doubt anyone will redshirt as we won't have the two UNLV transfers for the first few games. Note Bloom sat out when he transferred from Houston so he can't redshirt. Dison sat out a year to be eligible so he really can't redshirt either. I think Dison will play more this year as he is a defensive stopper and won't have to compete with Milsap for minutes at his position. _
You have to admit this "waiting on players until December" is similar to the Evan era. I worry we will again start the season slowly and dig ourselves into a big hole (ie. having to win the conference tourney to get into post season play).

There is a difference with the waiting until December on players situation. These guys are not eligible due to transferring, not because they did poorly in school last semester and have to catch up. We also have many more home games than usual early. That may prevent the poor start. That also helps the academic situation as less class time is missed. If a slow start does occur, pressure will be on. Jay told Coach Lee there will be a difference with Cajun basketball this year compared to the last two. Upon hearing that comment Coach Lee wondered if Jay was talking about having a competent point guard. Jay said no, he was referring to the fact there are expectations involved with the progam this year. The staff knows they and the team have to deliver this year.

That is one of the most moronic post I've read concerning basketball. Please don't go to any games this year. Our fan base is better off without you!

What is so moronic? UL has a history of not fielding a complete team at the start of the season. In most of those seasons, we start off slow and improve as the year goes on. The problem with this is that we have to get into the Conference finals to even make it to the NIT!
Last year we were killed down low. Now we will have to wait until Dec15th to get our big guys. We will then need a couple of games to 'gel". I know the circumstances are different, but this trend of starting out the season without your full team is frustrating.
BTW, since I live out of town you will partially get your wish. Should I cancel my check to the rebounders club?

Jeremy Barr will be there at the start of the season and he is a good big man.

    LOL!
My Dad was avoiding me after the USM debacle. Wonder why?
As you can guess I am not a fan of Lee. I still support the program, but I have a feeling he is not up to the task. That said, I would love to be wrong.

A former player told me recently that people who are on Lee about coaching should have been on Evans to because Lee was coaching that team. I had mixed feelings about Lee up to that point but that eased my feelings.

I think we shall see great improvement this year, Lee has the blocks to build something this year and the next few. I think his leash is mighty long.
