I think I know the place. I did not know they were that good. I shall check it out though. BTW, has anyone tried five guys burgers & fries? The cajum fries are really creole fries, but the burgers are the bomb. Fat Pat's has competition. They need to quit shorting the meat on their patties. If they need to raise their price then rasie it. It p!$$3$ me off when somebbody opens a new place. Then it isn't good enough to raise their price a little. Somebody always gets the bright idea to skimp on the ingredients. Then guess what? customer's like myslef begin to skimp on our visits. Then before they know it they're shutting the doors. Happens every single time. Come on Fat Pat's be who you were when you were voted best in Acadiana.

    Anybody familiar with it?
    That would be Mike's.

The place that used to be by the strip had increadable boudin. I think the little store on Louisiana ave has the recipe

Richard's Meat Market in Abbeville. The rest are but faint images of the real thing.

Best boudin for me and many others is Hebert's Specialty Meats. They have several locations and are big UL boosters. The main one is the Hil-Win Texaco station in Opelousas right off I-49.

I think that is where I first got the stuffed pistolette's that they sell in duson at that old station. As I recall they do have great boudin. now is this associated with the Hebert's in Breaux Bridge & Henderson? If so they are fantastic with a lot of things.

To me the best boudin was at Comeaux's, if my memory serves me correct it was at General Mouton and Lamar. Not sure if they made their own or not.

You would be correct. I think that it was renamed Mike's after one of it's former employee's, Mike Leblanc passed away years ago. His brother Daniel is the one that started the crawfish stuffed pistiolettes. I think Fezzo's used to have them in their restaurants. I don't know if Daniel still does it though. Mike and Daniel are my cousins.
