All the more reason for the university to detach RCAF from the UL Foundation and hire the professional fundraiser they have been dragging their feet on. It's going to take a big increase in both the number of donors and the amount given to generate the funds needed to increase salaries for Robe, Lotief, their staffs and secure the money for Phases 2 & 3 of the facilities plan. Hired gun contractors like Pursuant and their 229 mid-level donors is not going to cut it. We need a guy working for RCAF and RCAF alone with experience and connections throughout college and pro sports who can bring in new donors, big money and corporate dollars to get us to where we want to be. TJoe needs to find his sack, be a decisive leader and hire the guy. Tell the academics that don't like it to Please or resign. I'm sure their are plenty of Doctors of English Lit that would be willing to fill any vacant teaching positions at UL and be happy about the direction of the university. Go teach at Toolame if you want to work at a place that devalues athletics. (that worked out real good for them.

    Still needs system board approval.
This is exactly the status as of Sunday 8 June 14. All parties are in agreement. The rest is just BS politics!

I think that is likely dud to the fact that the Board only meets periodically on set dates so they have not had the opportunity to present it for approval.

Default Hud's New Contract Should East Fans' Minds - From the Bird's Nest

Ever since Mark Hudspeth arrived on the UL campus in December, 2010, many fans have wondered how long he would stay.

Cajun Nation bought in right away to the dynamic personality of Hudspeth and responded by setting a new record for season ticket sales before he coached his first game. And, as the Cajuns had success, some fans immediately wondered if he’d last at UL more than one season before someone threw some bucks at him and scooped him up. Tulane? Southern Miss? Every school in America with an opening?

"Since then the University had made a financial commitment to Hudspeth…twice. They’ve come up with a master plan for athletics that includes stadium expansion, new state of the art weight room, a multi purpose building to house, among other things, new digs for the coaches."

This is the best part for me. We're slowly but surely doing the program building behind Coach Hud, and we're finding a way to pay good coaches the money they deserve. So if Coach Hud ever leaves, we'll still have a strong foundation built for the new coach to stand on.

More importantly they need to realize the VAST MAJORITY of the money he is being paid is not coming from funds they can get. If Hud's not here "putting butts in seats", that money is simply not there.
