A head injury ended Tyrell Fenroy's shot at making history for UL's football team in a 51-21 loss at Southern Miss on Aug. 30.

After sitting out the second half of that loss and part of the off week, the senior running back is ready for his return to the field after being cleared by doctors on Tuesday.

Fenroy, who ran for 56 yards on 13 carries in the opener, will be chasing two school records as the Cajuns (0-1) travel to Champaign, Ill., on Saturday to play 24th-ranked Illinois (1-1) at Memorial Stadium. He is second among active running backs with 3,327 career rushing yards - nine short of Brian Mitchell's school record. With another 109 combined rushing and receiving yards, he will break Brandon Stokley's program career mark.
