    Brian,

Is there a chance that we finish with a record with say 8 or less losses, but an rpi outside of the top 16, and still host a regional. I know rpi has a lot of weight in the selection committee's decision, but they also take into consideration ranking, record, and other things that are probably above my head.

That ball was hit a mile high and the wind was very strong. That was a tough play to make on that ball.

As fans its always fun to say he should have done this or that but in reality the chances of anyone on this board knowing as much about baseball as coach Robe are almost zero. The chances of any of us knowing more about this team are exactly zero. But during the excitment of the game after a couple of beers I for one have all the answers.

I don't think anyone will argue with you there. I love to coach from the bleachers and some things are just so much more obvious in hindsight thus making my job as a bleacher coach that much easier. I don't think anyone on this board with half a brain would try to match wits with Tony about baseball, but it doesn't mean we as fans can't voice our opinions on a message board and see how others feel. I do it quite often, but usually to see what type of contrasting argument I get in return and it is fun to see the different philosophies of baseball. I look at it as a learning experience. I may or may not agree with others view points, but I am always gathering information to try to expand my baseball knowledge. I had an ex major leaguer as a high school coach and strong tutelage growing up and I always pried from the minds of my coaches as much as I could to get the best overall understanding of the game. I'd like to believe my knowledge of the game is great for someone my age, but would never be so foolish as to think I could match wits with Robe or anyone else with as much experience as he has. I just like soaking everything in like a sponge and learning new tricks.

Couldn't find any story on last nights game in the Lake Cuck American Press. But they did have this story leading into it. Look at the quote from their coach at the end. The paper put "(Cajuns)" in his quote. Bet he called us UL and they couldn't bear to print it. LOL!!!!

Also, note the lack of discussion on the game before or after. It doesn't exist on their message board...at least not where anyone in public can see. I guess the Brokebacks are in the closet with this as well.

McNeese's coach came from ULM, I have a hard time believing he called us UL publically.

That message board is a perfect representation of their fanbase. It is ashame too because they are having a good season and could quite possibly be in a ragional and still no interest...

Exactly what I was thinking, but was not going to say!

Sure beats the hell out of the interest in Cali. I was watching the Cal State Fullerton vs. UC Davis game (ESPN3) this past weekend to see what this Eshelman kid is all about… Fullerton was rated preseason #1, has a top 20 pick in Eshelman on the mound that game, has won National Championships and still only had like 100 people in the stands. It was quite comical because the camera showing the strike zone (from Centerfield pointed at the catcher/bottom of the grandstand) showed about 50 empty seats and 4 fans. The four fans that were shown could be seen playing on their cell phones the entire game and looked like they didn't have the slightest bit of interest being there…

UCLA has problems with baseball attendence as well. California is like South Florida when it comes to college sports. The problem with McNeese is that there is no fan support for any sports and not a whole lot to compete with in Lake Charles...

Looking back at games we played, it seems that during the Week-end games pitching held until our bats woke up and pitching still held. During the mid-week games batters have to produce early because of lack of pitching. Week-end games, pitching protects batters early and Mid-week games batters protect pitchers........Don't throw me under the bus, just give me your take on this. And I am not bring down our bull-pin.......

That's how it's supposed to work. Thing is, without injuries, we'd have Wilson and Boutte throwing during the week and beating the snot out of everyone. Until everyone comes back at full strength, the way you laid it out will have to be the plan.

Considering we lost 2 weekend starters for any amount of time and are still 31-4 is incredible.
