Certainly, I'm glad they won. My issue is the pitching by committee. So far, other than tonight, it has worked out this year, but it has hurt us tremendously in seasons past. It's just a personal thing I guess, and obviously, since I'm not coaching D1 baseball, my opinion is about as useful as the US Constitution to the Communist currently occupying the White House.
Ok....I'm over this. Time to go to LC and bang the broke backs like a screen door in a hurricane!
NO one will remember this game when we are in the CWS, but I will give credit to UNO. They brought it and beat the #1 team in the country. Now moving on.
We weren't seeing the ball well tonight. Too many swings at complete junk pitches. I saw Butler swing at ball 4 three times. My question is...it's the bottom of the ninth...you have runners at second and third with no outs. You have a guy coming up who hasn't done anything at the plate but swing and miss. Why not pinch hit for him? I know we had players on the bench. Hindsight is 20/20 but putting up anyone else might have gotten contact on the ball...scored a run and put a man on third with one out down by a run. I like those odds better than Butler swinging at garbage on a 3-1 count. Thoughts?
Not an excuse, but were any of our coaches lobbying to get the players off the field in the top of the 4th? That rain was coming down. We were both playing in it, but I don't think we give up those 5 runs in even a light drizzle.
We were both playing in it, but Carter was trying to pitch in it. Carter has been pretty good lately, and I just dont think he could grip the ball. He was as wild as I have ever seen him.
What is our record in weather below 55 degrees? I think we are like 4-2!
