I am with you. If two weekend starters are out that is a problem. Somehow I thought we would go 5-0 this week, but losing two starters obviously trickles down. The longer Austin and Milhorn are not hanging zeros, the longer we will not be totally awesome.

I didn't say that. I am not a fan of his mid week style, never was and I never will be. Pitching by committee with 2 innings here and 2 innings there is bs to me, but that's why I'm not the coach. I just don't like it.
Whoever made the decision not to pinch hit at the end for both Butler and Strentz had their heads up their _____.

Guess what? I'd rather lose to UNO tonight and win the college world series, than win this meaningless game and have our two top arms killed before we get to the regional.

I'm over it already. Let's go pound McNeese and get our swagger back.

Evan Powell should've either pinch hit for Kyle Clement in the 8th or Dylan Butler in the 9th. I thought both of those situations needed Powell out there. That game situation was NOT TIME to experiment with Kyle Clement, he's been good in trash time of games already out of hand, but Powell has been more than efficient in all kinds of game situations. I can't believe Powell didn't come in for that.

Butler's play in the outfield and at the plate tonight was awful. Non-productive outs at the plate and horribly missed catches. I don't know what was in his head tonight but that was terrible.

I hate to be bitccching and moaning right now but I'm so mad about this loss… I don't mind losing weekend games, but UNO? Easily the worst team on our schedule, hands down.

I wouldn't put all this on Robe. He brought in Carter who is usually good and he didn't get an out. Plitt, who's only had one bad game. Nick Z. let an inning go. Then Big Thunder. Did you want him to keep Hicks going and waste him on the weekend?

The blame is on the fact that in spite of our 7 runs, we could not get a hit when it counted 3 straight times in seventh, eighth, and ninth. Pinch hitting for Strentz might have been a good idea because Thurman can hit a bit.

UNO played good ball. They get some credit too.

Good lord man, you sound just like those a-holes across the basin. "Midweek games don't matter" is the stupidest thing to say. Of course they matter. I get it, you're saying you're ready to move on. But let's not act like this loss isn't awful. Losses are going to happen, but we should not be losing this game.

Clement was hitting .500 and .686 against righties. No problem bringing Powell for butler or strentz...but clement has produced in almost every chance he has been given, wasn't a bad call to go with him

Yea but like I said, he has had ZERO pressure on him in all of those situations and don't give me his batting avg. stats without admitting he has a low number of at bats. I'm just saying, in a big situation, we should have had one of our more proven clutch hitters out there. Not knocking Clement, just trying to show how much faith I have in Powell. I mean the guy had 2 PINCH HIT BOMBS just last week for crying out loud.

And yes, since we didn't use him the 8th, I was blown away that Butler AND Strentz didn't get pinch hit for after their strikeouts and popups all night.

Yeah, I don't mind letting Clement hit. Butler wasn't seeing it well tonight and Strentz has been struggling so I would have liked to see Powell for one of them. You just can't strike out when you need runs.

Of course they matter. I'm not pretending that didn't suck tonight.

But what matters MUCH more is a battle-tested group come crunch time.

What are you going to do - pinch hit for Butler and Strentz every time the chips are on the table in a regional?

What about when you go 12 innings on Friday, lose a heartbreaker, and need 5 frickin arms in 3 days just to survive the thing?

So yeah... I guess I'm saying that these coaching moves were looking far beyond a midweek Tuesday night game vs. UNO - no matter what side of the Basin you watch it from.

    This.

I've been saying for years that the musical chairs out of the pen is a bad idea and it usually rears it's head a few times every year. But hey, I'm not the coach and obviously Tony is the expert as none of us are coaching DI baseball.

The choice not to pich hit for Butler and or Stretz is beyond me. Butler did nearly hit a homerun earlier in the game but that doesn't explain leaving Strentz in knowing that he has been struggling. At least try to squeeze one or two in with Butler.

Losing to UNO is prob pretty devastating to the team rpi and very embarrassing. They did play well but 7 runs should be enough to win a midweek game....

    Edit reason: stupid
