You Guys tell me who is our new coach and why?
You Guys tell me who is our new coach and why?
Man you stole my thunder !! Was just about to ask that same question, but I'll be first up :
1 - Jeff Bower (well rested & knows how to build and recruit)
2 - Clint Conque (up & coming / knows the area & challenges)
Bustle should be fired immediately after we lose to ULM again !!
Can we afford these guys. Do you think the admin will buy out Bustle's contract?
Chris Hatcher - Georgia Southern (Possible BCS candidate don't know if he would be willing to come here...on a side note Scott Farmer is a Georgia Southern Alumni)
Clint Conque - Central Arkansas (Applied last time but does he still want the job)
Matt Viator - McNeese (Won last year and is off to a good start again this year with a near upset win over Butch Davis and the University of North Carolina)
Gary Crowton -LSU OC (Don't know if we have the money to go out and get him also might be waiting on possible BCS offers)
Major Applewhite - Texas Assistant HC - (Very young...Is he ready to be a HC?)
I'd be beyond thrilled if Jeff Bower would be available and interested. Hopefully the RCAF will be fully operational and profitable so as to help offset the cost.
He would generate something at first but not for long...he is bland but a good coach. Conque, Hatcher, and crowton are known for exciting offense and would generate more excitement for the long term. Also I think Crowton would bring much more excitement than anyone else.
In the end, wins will generate more fan excitement than good sound bytes.
I have never been one to join in on this kind of subject, but I have also come to the conclusion that "It's Time". We were not competitive with a team that we should have gone toe to toe with. Our coach had seven years to build a program and we lose "badly" to a team with a brand new coach. We've been really nice to Ricky, but now....."It's Time". He's had his chance and "as a team" during his tenure we've made very little progress.
