UL announced late Friday that the university will be closed on Tuesday because of the hurricane threat. Residence halls are fully staffed and secured for any students who currently live on campus and choose to remain on campus.

Also at UL, phase two of the university's emergency preparedness plan was put into effect Friday morning. Phase two of the school's plan focuses on planning for the safety of those students who will remain on campus and making decisions about school closures.
