During those discussions many of us are fully and realistically aware that surrounding CUSA programs are also chasing the almighty dollar and must schedule to accomodate the cost of their operations and growth. The problem here is that apparantly many Cajun fans believe that all our AD needs to do is call up these schools, snap his fingers and that'll get them on our schedule. The other element you mention usually slips in after we've totally exhausted discussions of the relevant matters.
There's a lot of talk among UL fans of not playing any D1aa programs. Well, I'm here to you that if we want to consistently have 6 of 12 games at home, it may require playing more D1aa games and if we're doing so then it makes sense to play the ones that bring out the most fans. It's just business. Anyone looking around at our D1a neighbors' and their scheduling practices can see this happening.
As far as conference make-up changes, what happens will happens but we better not put too many of our eggs in that basket for now. It's about as relevant as talking about who is verbally committed to programs 6-8 months before signing day.
