probably the best hour of sports talk radio in lafayette. i love to listen to robe on saturday mornings.
Austin could have pitched, Robe felt it would be beneficial for him to rest this week end. Projecting for the post season clearly.
Robe always has a new phrase of wisdom, "play through us not to us" , "no one gets an award for something that was given to them, you get awards for something you earned"
Milhorn is ready to throw innings and will probably emerge from the bullpen till he gets stretched back out. Harry has been throwing off the mound, I think he said Monday scrimmages, and will also get into a game soon. Austin was held out as an abundance of caution.
Players will be spelled down the stretch using our deep bench, so we don't limp into June, like we did last year. I think we forget that Adams, Dex and Harry all needed Tommy John last year.
"We have the opportunity of a lifetime, but we have to do it within the lifetime of the opportunity."
Makes me tear up...

Hold it, hold it, HOLD IT!!!! Now wait just a minute. Is Robe saying what I think he's saying? Is he actually using code, slang, coach speak, or other home spun cracker barrel wisdom to debunk the old "Well, that's baseball" philosophy? If I didn't know better, I'd say he was saying in a roundabout way that he believes this team is good enough to................drum roll..........win a national championship. Oh that hurt. I mean this is the guy who already led one team to Omaha isn't he? So I wonder pray tell what he could mean by the opportunity of a lifetime? If he's already been to Omaha, then one would have to reason that Omaha isn't "the opportunity of a lifetime." Granted, one must get to Omaha to play for that opportunity of a lifetime. But I do believe our very own coach is using his brand of coach speak to say this team can win a national championship. And he's doing it in a very pragmatic realistic way. Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Run for your lives the hailfire & brimstone will commence at any moment.
This is so, so cool. I wouldn't want anyone other than Robe navigating this opportunity. I strongly believe he completely understands where this program is, where it can go, and how to manage it every moment going forward. This is so, so cool.
It does look like Robe has both hands on the wheel.
