You're right, we shouldn't even let our starters practice because they could get hurt. In fact, I think the spring game should be the ragin jazz vs. The cheerleaders to make sure no players get hurt. This is a brilliant idea.

Thanks raginasian for all your insightful posts.......

Now THAT is an intriguing idea. Shall they be wearing football unis or their regular uniforms? Cajun lingerie bowl, perhaps?

They're practicing football. Do you think a race car driver (and team) can learn how to win a NASCAR race if they drive at half speed... at practice? Football is a sport of collisions. WE talking about PrACTicing collisions. That same FRESHMAN ALL AMERICAN became that All American by being "thrown in hitting drills"... at former prActices.

Hud has to learn the art of star players having "injuries" for a spring game. Lots of coaches protect their better players this way

So what are you going to do, keep him free of contact until gameday? Come on man, you can't be serious

And hitting drills are part of PrACTice and part of Hud's philosophy. We lost Buchanan right before our first bowl game, but we never get to that bowl game without Hud's philosophy.
