they publish this garabge but do not publish results the young man ran in during the season. Daily disappointment at its normal level of mediocrity.

They did publish the results of this young man's run in with the law this season!
If he wasted his career he has no one to blame but himself!!!

  5. Track & Field

Head coach Charlie Mahfouz has the Cajuns track program on the rise as evidence by his young talent.

The Cajuns youngsters established some of the State of Louisiana’s best collegiate marks this past season.

Sophomore Chris Roy was a dominant force in the pole vault all season. The Breaux Bridge native won every meet in 2009 and qualified numerous times for the NCAA Regionals. He was the Sun Belt Conference Champion with a height 5.20m which broke the stadium record. His best mark of 5.25m (17' 2.69'') on April 18 at the LSU Alumni Gold was the best mark in Louisiana for 2009.

Freshman Antwain Keyes posted the best mark in the state in the high jump. The Lafayette High product jumped 2.10m (6' 10.67'') on March 21 at the Louisiana Classics.

Junior Paula Parker (Long Beach, Calif.) was tops in the state in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:45.08 on March 27 at the LSU Tiger Relays.

Three Cajuns placed in the top three in the state, including sophomore Jasmine Anderson (Hammond), who’s 13.96 time in the 100-meter hurdles on May 10 at the SBC Championships was third best in the Pelican State. Sophomore Taryn Simmons (Eagan, Minn.) was second in the state in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.04 at the LSU Alumni Gold and freshman Jasmine Manual (Hammond) was second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.24m (40' 1.88'') at the LSU Tiger Relays.

  6. Track & Field UL track makes strides in first year under Mahfouz

Charlie Mahfouz's reaction summed it all up.

One year after the UL men's and women's track and field programs saw three of their athletes earn All-Louisiana honors, the Ragin' Cajuns doubled that total with six on this year's squad in their first season under coach Mahfouz.

Lots of folks were upset when Mahfouz was named track coach.

Looks like he did a good job his first year here.

Not much better than previous years. Positives in his first year were NOT wearing out his welcome and NOT burning a path to the AD's office for $$$, $$$ and more $$$.

I feel he has done very well, so far. He has recruited locally, and now is branching out. We shall see. My oldest son, who is a track coach, has faith in him, and that is a plus in my book. But as I said above, we shall see!

Mahfouz adds two more recruits, one a local product and another an NAIA All-American.
