Gymnastics was the very first sport ever mentioned at Louisiana (SLII).

It was advertised right next to education as the very first recruiting tool in attracting the female student students.

The gymnastic equipment was imported from Sweden.

Call it Title NINEteen-O-one.

As mentioned (sortof) Title IX has nothing on Louisiana's 1901 gender equity program. UL had gender equity since day one.

The problem in 1901 was finding competition for the Lady Cajuns. No other schools in range had female sports.
