At its Build 2014 conference today, Microsoft unveiled Windows Phone 8.1. Among the new features is a personal digital assistant named Cortana, a new Action Center, as well as support for customizable lockscreens and backgrounds. Cortana completely replaces the search function on Windows Phone. The Action Center shows the battery percentage, four customizable buttons, and of course notifications from all the apps. The new lockscreen means developers can build new experiences that shows users whatever information they prefer.
