That does look bad, it has obviously settled over the years. My question is whether or not the concrete is finished settling.

If it is, can a one-inch concrete overlay covered with tiles, do the job?

I think the concrete my have settles ab couple of years back when we had the severe daught, causing it to crack. it should be done settling, I would think with all of the rainfall we have received the past couple of years. If feasable, The idea about the overlay and the tile might be an inexpesive solution. Going back to the upper deck issue, I wonder if there is also other damage that is not visable to the naked eye that would complicate installing and upper deck on the student side?

BTW, Whoever put that label on my post above, thanks, I like it. Is it possible to copy it to use an all of my messages?

Obviously, cost trumps everything for us in our current situation. I was just making my preference known in a perfect world!

Reminds me of Florida's stadium with all the orange around the inside.

can we get it done? that looks awesome, b/c it looks more permanent rather than our yearly spring cleaning.

At first I thought "man, it's going to be hard to paint that over hang area". But it may not be so bad with reaching down from the upper deck with rollers. The top section would not be too bad either, just getting up and down with the paint & supplies. The good part is that it is not all the way around like we did last weekend, its only equal to approx 1/4 of the area. It's do-able. Now the ring around the bottom has been painted (off white) several times before, so the concrete was fairly sealed. The other two areas have never been painted so that concrete may really soak up some paint. It may need some kind of primer first. Anybody have a lot of concrete painting experience?? :o
