UL's softball players report to campus today, marking the start of the preseason for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Their arrival brings joy to co-head coach Michael Lotief. In June, the Cajuns were celebrating the thrill of finishing tied for fifth at the Women's College World Series - where they upset top-ranked Florida - and ending the season ranked sixth nationally.

Now new dreams take shape as players and coaches reunite for another season.

"There's a newness and uniqueness to every season," Lotief said. "That's one of the challenges of the job.
