Westgate High senior Aaron Bird looked into his options when searching for a college at which to continue his athletic career, and in the end chose the one just a few miles up the road.
Bird, who played football, soccer, basketball, golf and baseball at WHS, signed a national letter of intent on Thursday to play football at UL-Lafayette. He’ll walk on with the team — academic scholarships and TOPS will take care of the bills — as a kicker, and likely a punter.
