The largest system fighting for crumbs because too many of the smaller campuses have bought into the old Huey Long divide and conquer strategy still employed in Louisiana higher ed.

We should be shutting some of them down and/or converting them into 2-year schools.

Yes, I saw this. Except this time I don't think UL was even mentioned one time. Disgusting.

I believe it mentioned UL faculty who could provide support. not sure if that is good for UL or not.

Last time I spoke to Cajun Fun, it would be a joint program and would greatly benefit our nursing program. Most of this depends on acquiring the Lourdes property. We already share some programs with LSU as it is.

If I am not misremembering he seemed to think that this could eventually turn into the ULS Med School which would benefit us in the long run.

There is no way in hell Refineryville would ever let ANY medical school start up in this state that would not be under their control. Medical schools create wealthy alumni. Don't think for one second that wasn't part of the UAB issue. Like Clapton once sang, "Kill it before it grows."

This is what I was hoping for: can understand that the start up would be lsu, but there should be a definitive plan in which it could evolve into ours. That would be ____ing fantastic.
But two questions: who's cajun fun, lol? And I haven't heard a peep about the OLOL property in quite a while....although they finally put several big 'for sale' signs/billboards along st landry an st Julian......you have any scoop on that? Thx

A UL medical school is a political nonstarter according to every source I've talked to.

A new election cycle is starting. Since Kennedy floated this out, pay attention to what he does NOT say. My colon hasn't been that full of air since my last 'scope.
