Derrick Smith got off to a great start last season, leading UL's football team in catches, receiving yards and catches through the first eight games.

Now the senior wide receiver wants to build on last year's success for the Ragin' Cajuns as he returns to the field.
Smith recently spoke with The Daily Advertiser about his rehab, his home state and his dreadlocks.

Answer: I had a lot of older cousins that played football. When I was younger I played Pop Warner football. I always knew I would play when I got older.
