Ennis graduated from Martin Behrman High in 1948 and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he played baseball for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Known as "Father Time" for running the game clock for more than a half century for Tulane football and basketball, the New Orleans Saints, 9 Super Bowls, 40 Sugar Bowls, 4 Final Fours and a host of other major and minor sporting events in New Orleans. He also officiated Louisiana high school sports for more than 25 years. -
