Thread: Two-minute drill (Q&A) with UL senior Jonathan Vance

  1. UL Football Two-minute drill (Q&A) with UL senior Jonathan Vance

Slowed by a knee injury near the end of his sophomore season, UL's Jonathan Vance was ready to make a bigger contribution as a junior. Then an ankle injury forced the outside linebacker to miss four of the final five games last year.

Now Vance, who recovered a fumble against North Texas as a redshirt freshman to clinch an upset win, returns for his senior season prepared to make the most of his last year with the Ragin' Cajuns.

Question: What do you like the most about being back in practice?

Answer: It's a great opportunity. When you get away in the summer and out of the pads you're just trying to get ready to get back in pads. I felt really good about practice today. We had to fight through the heat and the ups and downs.

Vance mentioned something about this years team I think is very important. Mental toughness and pride. There have been many times in the last two years where the Cajuns showed neither. If they can improve in this area, a few extra wins should be possible.
