The answer is for washing uniforms. The short #'s are supposed to match the jersey #'s so that people aren't wearing other people's shorts. After practice or a game, all the clothes and jerseys are washed in huge batches by the training staff. It helps to stop things like fenroy's shorts getting put into mike D's locker.

I enjoyed my fan day experience! Going down on the field, feeling the turf in between my toes (sorry just had to haha). Seeing all of the Fall sports teams excited about the upcoming season. Got my free fan t-shirt and burger. Overall a very good afternoon at my favorite place in Lafayette!

the numers on the shorts correspond to the locker number... for instance, mike is number 6 but his locker number is number 1 so he has number 1 on his shorts.... its for equipment managers... and if you didnt know, UL has the first 50 lockers designated for seniors and starters... thats why they dont get the same locker number as their jersey number.... also they try to keep position groups together.... all the gear is brand new also so i dont know what your talking about when you said old garage sale motif... have you seen the full workout uniform? Red shirt and new grey ragin cajun dri fit shirts... they look pretty good.

yes he was there... the only cajun not present was tackle Nasser Jamal... he had his MRI taken and apparently cant walk yet unfortunately. I saw him on crutches on the field during the pictures and he looked like he was in pain.

Jamal was there, at least for team photos. He was on crutches though.

  11. UL Football Fenroy 'rushes' to meet Fan Day demand

UL - — Tyrell Fenroy sat at a table signing autographs at Cajun Field on Sunday evening, writing with a felt-tipped marker almost as quickly as he explodes past opposing defenses.

Fenroy, who this season could become the all-time leading rusher for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, was the main target of those seeking autographs from ULL players on the stadium’s breezy concourse area for the school’s annual Fan Day.

Many of the fans, wearing ULL’s red and white school colors, thrust T-shirts, autograph books, diminutive Ragin’ Cajuns helmets and just about everything else at Fenroy, who occasionally affixed his No. 32 jersey number next to his name.

One of those autograph seekers was Lafayette resident Ted Daigle, who with his four sons, Max, Gabe, Sam and John Thomas, stood in a line about 20 yards long and two deep, waiting for a chance to obtain Fenroy’s signature.

    Default Thanks for the Help

Just wanted to take a moment to thank those that showed up to help for Fan Day. We had a number of folks show up including the usual suspects who helped us get set up early and break down quickly after it was over. I didn't get to see much while working in the batcave but it seems like it was a success again this year. Thanks again.
