Who will be #2 QB for UL?

 Barring injury during preseason camp, senior Michael Desormeaux will take snaps as UL's starting quarterback for the second consecutive year.

The New Iberia native is coming off a strong season. He developed into one of the Sun Belt Conference's top dual threats last year, accounting for 2,546 yards and 17 touchdowns. That included a team-high 1,141 rushing yards - the 20th-best single-season total by a quarterback in NCAA history.

Desormeaux ranked eighth nationally in yards per carry (6.1) and led the Sun Belt in yards per game (123.2) in league play.

But the left-hander is a senior this fall, meaning the Cajuns have to fill his shoes next season. For now the offense needs a reliable back-up to emerge - and the sooner the better with the opener on Aug. 30 against Southern Miss.
