Awesome, maybe 5 or so years from now we will fill the newly renovated Cajun Dome with approximately 15,000 seats at that point! We can dream, just need to act on it so get those season tickets!

You could make the argument that we received as much, if not more national notoriety from this game than the NO bowl. As far as traveling for basketball, maybe we're just rusty. Hopefully we'll get a do-over next year.
For the New Orleans Bowl we had weeks to make arrangements with work and family situations and we already kind of knew where we were going. The two scenarios aren't really analogous at all. If we start becoming mainstays in the tournament, people will be able to travel easier.

But if his idea of showing support for his team is sitting on his azz during games telling others to sit down, then maybe he should've been sitting in the comfort of a box seat. This is the goddamn NCAA basketball championships, the big dance, if you aren't at the game to stand and yell for your team, then don't give ____ to fans who are there to do just that.
Same thing happen to me and my crew at the first NOLA bowl.

You can do that in Morgan City. Becoming a common sight!

I will also say, the process of getting tickets hampered a lot of people from coming down

This. Had I fully anticipated going to a regional for the past season, I would not have paid a crap load of money for Pelicans/Heat tickets in NOLA and I would have made arrangements for my wife to handle the kids' 3 soccer games over the weekend. Outside of this, there was very little chance of me going with the late notice.

How many people do you really think have the ability to take vacation from work 3 days before the date, be able to afford a $1,000 trip without needing to budget and save for it, be able to take their kids out of school without a valid excuse, not have any other commitments over the weekend, etc.

Creighton fans knew they were going dancing months ago. They didn't know where they'd be going but they had enough time to prepare.
Captain Obvious strikes again. I know the NO Bowl trips are able to be planned weeks or months in advance. That's why you see 40,000 Cajuns there every year. But to see two sections of Cajun fans in that arena compared to some of the other schools was a bit disheartening. Baylor was the only closer team of the 8 teams that played that day.

In addition, the $1000 number is a bit excessive. We travelled in a group of 3 and spent no where near that as an entire group, much less individually.

Like my initial post said, maybe we're a bit rusty on this whole basketball post season thing. At least I hope that's the case, because I would hate for apathy towards the program to be the root cause for the low numbers in SA.

I knew the dance was a lock in that both wku and gsu weren't going to beat us three times. Then again I also knew we would win that first Nola bowl when all we needed was three pts...yeah I'm always talkin crazy huh? What I didn't know was all of my travel arrangements would be taken care of in return for shooting a doc on the tournament for the kids. So turns out lights out will be my 2nd doc instead of my first. Film should be ready next week if u can believe it, already halfway done. Not sure if the coaches want the kids to get a coy first at the bball banquet or if they will say sure post it online. Either way you'll see it gratis

And to say that we aren't true fans because we didn't stand up for the entire game is one of the most absurd things that I've ever heard from this board. As much time and dedication that my family and I have put into this athletic program over the years, for anyone to claim that is clueless.

    End of rant
Your posts seem to have this aura of douchiness that surrounds them because of the money your father gives to UL athletics. Still want that cookie?

So let me get this straight, if the people on the side of you are standing and cheering, it is some unwritten rule that you are supposed to scan the section prior to standing to make sure everyone else is also standing, so as not to inconvience others? Should you also take a quick poll of said area and make sure that those behind you are also willing to compromise their comfort for the sake of cheering the team on?

On the incident being referred to, possession was cross court and our seats were not in the field of view that allowed us to see if anyone else was standing as our seats were near the aisle.

Just pass this message to your pops ULVictory, when asking someone to sit down because you can't see, maybe the best way to go about it is to politely request it. We were, what, two rows in front of you guys? Barking out orders to a fellow fan, like an old geezer telling the neighborhood brats to get off his lawn, will almost always be met with a harsh reaction.
