Just curious....who are these "a hole" fans that you speak of? Because we were sitting on the same row, heck literally right next to T-Joe. And FYI, we support this school and have just as much passion as you or anyone else on this board. And people who know me here can attest to that.
I don't mean to call you out here, but we were sitting in that exact section with that entire group that you call a "contagious disease." And trust me, we were yelling quite a lot and not sitting on our hands.
I only remember one time my dad telling someone to sit down right after everyone else had sat down in our section and there were only maybe three our four people who kept standing, ironically right in front of where we were sitting.
Anyway about the game.....we fought hard and played until the final whistle. I'm very proud of what this team accomplished this year. I look forward to the future of Cajun basketball, and hope to be back in the postseason very soon.
Agreed with all of the above.
We had a beautiful drive from the Hill Country/Lake Travis area ... down 281 South into San Antonio. I took my 12-year old daughter ... whom was really into it ... and my brother. Arrived at the end of the 1st half between Baylor and Nebraska. We had great seats (thanks to RCAF) and it was a nice, comfortable arena in which to take in the NCAA's finest. We all had a great time.
It was an exciting, close, hard fought game. If you had not known the seeds, there is no way you would have guessed this was a 13 vs. 4 game. The Cajuns gave Creighton all they could handle and Elfrid Payton's man defense on McDermott (another great player) was nothing short of amazing. Payton has amazing quickness and plays like he is 6'7". McDermott was clearly frustrated when Payton was assigned to him.
I am very proud of this team and had a blast watching them once again on the NCAA's finest stage. Here is hoping they can continue the momentum.

We sold the full allotment given, filling 20 and 120, and there were many more scattered throughout. I thought that was pretty good considering Nebraska, Baylor, and Creighton were buying tickets in the same session. We were loud. That's what counts. I haven't watched the TV coverage, but I bet it looked empty behind our bench. It was unfortunate that we were cross-court from the team. Baylor, which was behind our bench in Session 1, went out for lunch.
Section 20, Row 11, Seat 18. If your dad was yelling at people to sit down then he is part of the disease. Sorry if the truth hurts. BeauCajun sat because he's a nice guy, I'm the type to ignore your whiney azz until I feel like sitting down. By the way, I heard a lot of vulgarities coming from some around your group during the game. Did old pops yell at those guys too?
No, the vulgarity came from the drunk Cajun fan sitting in the box seat above where we were. And if Cajun fan was sitting in seat 18, then it wasn't him.
And I'm sure Beau is a nice guy and a loyal fan. But guess what? So are we. And if you consider someone who gives a large sum of money to the athletic department every year, buys season tickets to football, basketball, baseball, and softball; AND travels to a good number of away games in those respected sports part of the "disease" or "not a true fan," then please enlighten me on the subject on what a true fan should be. Because that looks like a very loyal and true fan.
And again, anyone who knows me will agree.
So which kind of fan sucks more?
The fan who went to the game but didn't cheer loud enough?
Or the fan who didn't go?
Public disclosure...I didn't go, but was advised by coworkers that I (and a coworker) were being too loud for the office.
Want a cookie? Glad daddy gives to the RCAF and buys season tickets. So do we.
But if his idea of showing support for his team is sitting on his azz during games telling others to sit down, then maybe he should've been sitting in the comfort of a box seat. This is the goddamn NCAA basketball championships, the big dance, if you aren't at the game to stand and yell for your team, then don't give ____ to fans who are there to do just that.
Thousands of UL fans travel to NO as early as the Thursday or even Wednesday before the NO bowl. I understand football is the biggest deal here, but our fans need to step their game up when other sports like basketball are on the biggest stage.
You could make the argument that we received as much, if not more national notoriety from this game than the NO bowl. As far as traveling for basketball, maybe we're just rusty. Hopefully we'll get a do-over next year.
