Nope. At best, they're in the "everybody else" third tier.
But a new paradigm is being created.
Like I said before, it was LSU, then UL/tech/uno, and then everybody else.
We're creating a defacto 4 tier system.
And the author of the article begrudgingly sees this and admits it and acknowledges that it's happening.
I give the writer major credit for bringing the topic up.
While I agree we are on the verge...our administration and fans (donors) must strike while the iron is hot in order to completely breakthrough. Tech and Tulane are still in better conferences but of course as long as we win that won't matter to much. We will lose Hud and probably Marlin eventually so the key will be who we hire next in my opinion to keep the ball rolling. We can not afford losing seasons.
Is this really from an LSU fan? Is Hell freezing over??

Title: Winning cures all
Hey there, great article. I'm a Tigers fan first and foremost. But I really like to see the Cajuns having success as long as it isn't against us. I personally have no problem with UL becoming the known second best athletic program in the state. I've also come around to them being called Louisiana, as it is... it won't affect LSU in any way, we will always be LSU and the dominant program. I'd like to see the Cajuns become good enough over the long haul for a bigger conference to reach out to them and let them really take off... it will be good for the state. Geaux Tigers, and Geaux Cajuns now too I guess.
Our official legal nickname is "Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns".........so so so so so hard for any of our neighbors to add that one officially legal word......Louisiana ;-)
