Now that is very true. lol!

From what I see in the media guides and at the athletic site and stadium etc., the U has really come around to using "University of Louisiana", "Lousiana" and "UL" but they do also use "Lousiana-Lafayette" - maybe in case they ever have to explain it all.

But, you really don't see "ULL" being used (sure somebody might trip up and use but that's the exception). I did notice it shows up in a couple of ads in the new football programs.

I cannot address what google or yahoo do and I do no know if there is anything we can do to address that directly. I feel pretty certain if we put our foot down with the SBC, things would change there.

All in all, it is very obvious which direction we are moving in.

I do feel like we are getting away from USLing ourselves all over the place. And, I mean that across the board.

For goodness sake, our football team is about to be bowl-eligible and we are having the best season in a long time. Our basketball team is coming off of a West division championship and our baseball team is looking good at the Fall World Series.

Do we really have to talk about this AGAIN?

I also read the interview with Dr. S. I was very disappointed to see the continued reference by both he and the interviewer to UL Lafayette and not just UL.

Ah well, that's taken straight from the Geaux programs, I try not to edit them.

Beal must be really good, if we are going to get him. I am still try to catch up.
IMO-
I guess UL still have the same kind of problem when I was there as the U of Slow Learner or was it U Standin Line. I'll bet you lots of students does not know or care yet, about the history of the name change, I didn't know until my 2nd year at UsL. Students have to know first, if you don't know exactly what you want to be call, then how do you expect me to call your name correctly. That's my 3.14150... cents worths.

I was Downtown for something at 307, a couple of drunk LSU boys were in there. One of them yelled, "University of Slow Learners!!!"

To which someone in another part of the bar yelled out, "Learn Slower than Us!"

Sounds like a one-sided deal.

More wins on the field and more accomplisments in the athletic arena will allow it to be both in due time. The most important name we can have is winner.
