Oh, RB huh. Still can't hurt our Linebacking corps though.

Just to bring things to order. Deon status is not up in the air, he will be on the field,he was having some family problems and needed some time away from football to get it all togather. Next Louis Beal is a great get. He is 6`2 210 and runs 4.5 in the forty. We must rember when TF got hurt last year and Deon was a little banged up we had to go to Levier. Now this gives us 3 good tailbacks. Also I talked to Coach Jenkins at the football event this weekend and when I asked him about Beal he responed with a smile and stated that this is the best he has felt about his backfild in a long time and that he cant wait to put his guys into action. This was a long way from his normal response of a stern look and the words time will tell or we will have to wait and see. I also think he recruited Beal as well does anyone know. If so this just adds to the crop of guys( all good players) he has recruited since he has been here.

    here's his original recruiting interests:

I think we'd be more stirred up about this if it were in the midst of recruiting season. Beal is a solid player. I could care less about Rivals wrt the Cajuns, and also don't care much about the hype that goes up or down on signing day. Many at UL unfortunately were waiting to have Luther Ambrose be an uptick on signing day. All things considered, Beal is more than an adequate replacement for Ambrose... but in the case of either one... only time will tell.

We also lost a very good Defensive Tackle to personal reasons (I believe his mother was gravely ill). He was really being counted on for defense this year. Does anyone know his current status? Has anything changed in his personal life? Is there any way he can still sign with us prior to the start of the season?

Ryan Glazer is the guy you are talking about. He can still come to school here but we are moving on with the assumption he is not returning. We are looking at the JC's for DL guys who may graduate this spring. Usually schools look for JC guys who can come in and participate in spring practice. We did sign a high school DT from New Orleans who is expected to contribute as a freshman as he had 18 sacks as a senior.

Check this out, it is from a Southern Cal site, they mentioned Beal in an article for a Senior camp.

    http://scfootball.blogspot.com/2006_06_25_archive.html

"* SS Louis Beal (Cody HS, MI) – Beal showed up at the camp as a virtual unknown from Michigan who has played mostly running back in high school but he said the Trojan coaches were interested in him as a defensive back so that is where he worked out today. Beal is around 6-1 or 6-2, 200-210 pounds and looked to be a pretty good athlete."

Considering Deon Wallace's status is still up in the air. At least the last I heard...

    Whats up with Wallace?

Nothing is up with Wallace. He sat out spring practice to concentrate on academics. That created rumors that he may not be ready to go come fall. From what I understand, things are going OK with school for him now and he is expected to be participating when August practice begins.

UL Football Question for Cajun T on Louis Beal

    Hey T,

I called in to Ryckman's show the other day to ask Coach Hudson about Beal, he said he couldn't really comment on it and it was still iffy on if he would be in a cajun uniform this fall.

Last story I read on scout said all the details had been ironed out, whats the story?

I had contacted Beal myself actually because I found him on facebook and he said he was looking forward to coming to UL, he even had pictures on his profile of Cajun Field that said "my new home"
