It seems as though a ton of schools including many in the SBC are already reporting committments. So far I do not know of any HS players that have committed to UL for the 2009 football season.
Does anyone know of any players that are close?

Well not really a 2009 recruit, but i think he might earn a scholly come 2009.. so kinda fits??
i did hear some great news (imo) thal lafayette high's kenry griffin (6'1 maybe 200lb maybe LB) has been invited to walk on this summer. he will be a player before he leaves.. (yes imo)
This is just my 2 cents worth but all of this early committing stuff is getting totally loonie. Kinda like the whole "recruiting season" scene and all that it entails.
I think some of these early commits to other programs like ours just want to bank a scholarship offer but will continue to listen to other programs. Last year our very first commit (sometime last summer) was on board right up until the last days of recruiting and then jumped to So Miss.
I saw a day or so ago that LaState (which has like 16 already) had a commit decommit to FlaState already. Yet, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him sign with LaState when it's all said and done.
I see Tex. A&M has 3 big LBs commits in La. including a kid from New Iberia.
Don't get too caught up in early commitments Dave! The Cajuns are on some good athletes, but we only have 12 scholarships to fill next season with Walker coming aboard and maybe one more soon. Don't look for some of those athletes that committed early to Sun Belt programs to keep their commitments. If better offers come aorund, things change quickly.
