The NCAA's new set of rule changes gave players and coaches more to talk about earlier this week at the Sun Belt Conference Football Media Days in New Orleans.
Noted as the biggest rule change for the 2008 season was the 40/25-second play clock. At the end of every play the 40-second clock will start, the same rule used in the NFL. College rules will still utilize the 25-second clock after a stoppage, including a change of possession or a penalty.
Under the old rules there was only a 25-second clock, which did not start until officials marked the ball ready for play.
