Thread: New Seating for 2014 Football Season

UL Football Re: End Zone Seating???

We sit at the top seats, level with the walkway and all the older guys use to pop in and out from the top, with the bench-backs it has become almost impossible to get in and out. I have to agree with the complaints of all the people. I sit on the end so it does not affect me other than the constant getting out of the way of inside sitters.

---Wrong Hammer I was mocked for saying that both of them would reach new conference status---the "NO ways and NO chances" were very prominent----So I was correct in saying what did happen for them and in begging our administrators to wake up to the situation!!! And it happened exact;y that way as we weren't invited and they were!!! But have you talked to our administration about all of your gripes??? How many times and to whom??? As the chief complainer of everything on here I am wondering--How many times and what was their answer---I guess all on the board are waiting to what they told you!!!

Yes, Boomer, I expressed my view directly to Scott Farmer as I handed over a check for the new facilities. And the response was more useless excuses that highlighted the admin's misguided thinking that realignment could occur on their timetable rather than the reality of having to seize the opportunity when the conferences' present the opportunity. And of course there was the issue of the Belt being the place to be. BTW, basinbear and his lovely wife watched the conversation with amusement.

Our admin is the reason we weren't invited Boomer, not what Tech or Tulane were doing. Now, I've answered your question about when I spoke to them. So now, other than begging on Redzone and RaginPagin for "someone" to do something, when did you talk to our admin?

Students that enjoy affecting the outcome of the game should want to be in the endzone for the chance to make it really loud for opposing teams in the red zone. It also gives us another strategic option for the coin toss. Some of the toughest stadiums in college football have a loud student section in the endzone.

I don't like them at all. My knees hit the bench back in front of me. It's very tight.

-----Well first let me congratulate you for first giving to the facilities (just wondering if you mean the RCAF annual fund or a check just for the athletic facilities--regardless good job)! Secondly congrats on voicing your views directly to the AD (was this recently that he said that the Belt is the place to be?)-------Now to address your questions first about Tech/Tulane as you say that it is nothing that they did ---Hammer this is just not true as they lobbied and lied and visited and did all possible for quite a while to achieve their current status----As far as our doing our part, I think/know that you are correct----As far as my part goes, I can assure you that I told everyone I could on every level in every club for many years/decades----I have had talks over the years with Herb schilling and know the historical screw ups going back to the Metro Conference and our joining it! Herbert Hyman's actions all the way to almost begging at scholarship functions!! I has been the front and center for a long time! But put a little sunshine in your life man, I think I would rather have my hand then Miss S, Tulane and Ltur----But there is no doubt that if Scott Farmer told you the Belt is OK that something needs to be done soon!!!

No, I'm not saying that Tulane or Tech didn't do anything. Of course they did. They pushed for an invite which is what our admin failed to do. The point is, moaning on the board about what they do does not improve our situation. Getting UL in a better conference starts with getting our admin to change their attitude. We need to look at ourselves and our admin when we question why things aren't happening for us. What Tech and Tulane do are generally irrelevant with respect to us.

As for the time that occurred, it was back when they unveiled the preliminary drawings of the master plan and also right after the realignment debacle. To be clear, I haven't heard Farmer making comments about being comfortable or satisfied in the Belt in some time.

  9. UL Football Re: End Zone Seating???

But he absolutely did make those comments shortly after the last alignment took place, after Middle and before WKU. He had the Pinky promise.

I understand an athletic director cannot go bashing the conference he is in, and has to put a good spin on things. I simply do not accept lying to your supporters about what YOU did to get different results. A call to the C USA office is not working to get there, a call to the Liberty Bowl is not working to make sure the NOLA provides us with the best contract possible, letting our baseball coach get humiliated is no way to disclose bad news.

You know what is also not kosher? Disinformation e-mails about problems with the new athletic facility to people who others trust.

  10. UL Football 2014 New Seating Areas Available

LOUISIANA – With new fan enhancements coming into place at Cajun Field for the 2014 season, a pair of prime midfield seating areas for potential Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football season-ticket holders are now available.

Seats in sections P and Q on the east side of Cajun Field are available for $150. All seats purchased as season tickets would come with complimentary chairbacks.

Coming off its third consecutive nine-win season which was culminated by a victory in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, the Ragin' Cajuns captured their first Sun Belt Conference title since 2005 while leading the league in attendance, averaging nearly 26,000 to Cajun Field.

Season ticket packages start for as low as $110 for a six-game slate that features dates against in-state opponents Southern (Aug. 30) and Louisiana Tech (Sept. 6), plus Sun Belt Conference games against Georgia State (Oct. 4), Arkansas State (Oct. 21), South Alabama (Nov. 1) and Appalachian State (Nov. 22).

Reserved seating begins at $135 while fans can take advantage of the "Family 5-Pack," which consists of five tickets per game, for $405. Corporate/Group tickets discounts are also available for groups of 25 or more.

Ragin' Cajuns fans that purchase season tickets will also have the ability to print their tickets at home and will have mobile ticket access on their smartphone.

Cajun Field, which opened in 1971, will see several new changes this season, highlighted by the addition of approximately 7,000 seats in the south end zone which will increase capacity to nearly 38,000. With the expansion of the south end zone, fans will be able to access a new concession stand and restroom facility.

A new video display system will also be in place for the beginning of the season, featuring a 15HD pixel layout and measure 30-feet tall by 54-feet wide. The display can be configured to show one large image for live video and instant replays, but can also be divided into multiple sections to show a variety of graphics and animations, statistics and scoring information, and advertising and sponsorship messages.

For more information, call the Ragin' Cajuns ticket office at (337) 265-2357 or visit www.RaginCajuns.com

So they are sliding the red zone over. Also "complimentary chairbacks" in those middle sections on the visitors side. Are those the rental chairback seats?
