I talked to one worker about what they were doing and he said that they were taking of the panels. I said wouldn't a cutting touch do a better job. He just looked at me and said nothing. It looks like they are using a hammer and chisel to knock out rivets.

the "new" scoreboard was installed around 98 or 99. The one being removed sat unused after that.

In 2002, the old scoreboard had the newer skin put on it and the top screen/ portion was replaced or refurbed, but it never actually got working properly. Money down the drain, although advertising spots were able to be sold on it.

For 2 seasons I ran the ad board scroller after it was "REPAIRED/RENOVATED". Actually it was more like 1.25 seasons.

Every time the weather would get damp in the slightest the electronics would pass out, freak out or just drop out. Even though it covered it's costs it never really made money for the school other than being an impetus to sell static adds.

So in the end it was covered over and I was kicked out of the game day management booth, and banished to the sidelines, where I flourished for a few seasons.

Ah that old scoreboard brings back memories for me.
