That is why you should never expect the finished product to look like original schematic pictures. Because the original pictures are just the pictures, they are not construction plans and specifications. They have to go through a design process that usually involves give and take and finally what the codes will allow.
---Thanks you bring such truth to the misconceptions of others ----Good or bad your knowledge is very much appreciated as we add so many new construction projects---I am just thinking about walking on campus from the back and seeing the 2 old dorms and the maintenance buildings gone ---- try to avoid the Fletcher building but look at the beautiful dorms in the back----see the new parking garage going up---watching the Quad come into reality---visualize the look from the Blvd. to Cypress Lake and the Union when those 2 eyesores are history---Go past the massive union---See the massive set of new housing in the front---This along with the clean building looks that were so lacking will be great for recruiting---Oh and I forgot Burke and how pretty it is!!! And I haven't even gotten to the new bike path to see what's cooking at the Athletic Campus---Just a HUge WOW!!!
It's all good! I remember going to Tulane Stadium as a kid, and will probably go to a game or two if the Cajuns are away and the wave is at home. I just HATED the Dome for a college football game, so I have been following this story for years.
Here's the comparison I used to make...(people who went to USL in the 80's will be able to relate)
You walk into the Keg (the Dome) with 50 people in there and the place looks dead. You walk into Nitecaps (the new stadium) with 50 people in it, and the place looks packed because the venue is smaller. The atmosphere is just totally different when the place is packed.
