To me, there is just nothing positive that will come out of it. I'm glad I sit where I do because beer consumption will not be a problem having to sit around a bunch of drunks with spilled over beer cups everywhere but I'm telling you it will be like that in parts of the stadium. I do not believe it to be a very good idea.

I'm concerned about the potential problems. They definitely need to cut sales off at the end of 3Q. People who cannot drink without it being an issue will learn it somewhere in their travels... if it isn't at a UL football game... it will be somewhere else. I don't think Cajun Field is going to create any drinking problems, but it may reveal some.

The fact remains that if behavior gets out of hand, the people involved are going to get kicked out and probably go to jail. You also do not want to get caught driving over the legal limit. With drinking comes decisions and consequences... like many other things in life.

Hopefully the beer will be sold by the plastic bottle rather than a big cup of draft. Although I'd rather draft, the bottles will limit the "oops I spilled on you" problem that can easily occur with a full cup of draft.

As with all things, everyone needs to be self-policing.

And I'll guarantee you the student section will be no worse off with beer sales. It's being sneaked (snuck?) in regardless.

I don't think selling beer is that big of a deal. As of last year, pretty much the entire student section would sneak in beer/flasks. I know some of you have been by that person at the concessions who order a soda and asked for them to fill it up halway. It wasn't because they wanted to pay more for less drink. I think that all this will do is eliminate that and cause our fans/students to purchase beer inside the game to avoid the hassle of sneaking it in the game.

Making it very expensive would help also. UH charged $7 which will keeps things in check

Fact of the matter is students and many others are bringing in alcohol anyway. Cargo shorts do amazing things for hiding beer and a flask. People are leaving going to the tailgate spot drinking and coming back in so the only things that will change is that the school will get profit off of legal alcohol in the stadium now.

I never got in any trouble during college, but on a few cold weather games I brought in a six pack. Coats and cargo pockets hide things very well. I will gladly pay that money to my university instead of sneaking it in. Hopefully UL was able to strike a good revenue sharing deal with the beer vendors. I think this should definitely help get a few band wagon fans to come into the game instead of staying out in their car.

Now all I need is a vodka station by the lemonade vendor and my life would be complete!

I was in the band back in the '70's. You'd be amazed what we could fit in our instrument cases. Also, since we're thinking out loud here, could we convince LaFonda's to put in a margarita stand?

I agree. Like every other stadium around the country we already have the problem of people who tailgate to hard and make an arse out of themselves once inside. This doesn't change that. You can bet those beers are going to set you back 6 to 7 bucks a pop. Anyone with the intent of getting plastered isn't going to try and do it at those prices. They will have started off much earlier in the day on the case of Milwaukee's Best.

However like someone else noted I'm sure there will be a group who will point to this as a problem when in reality it already exist out in the parking lot anyway.

I for one will enjoy being able to have one or maybe two beers over the course of a three hour game and I'm pretty certain that is how most of the other people view this.

I consume a lot of alcohol during the day so I use the game to sober up so selling beer wont change anything I personally do. If by some chance I am not able to tailgate for a game I will more than likely by a few brews during the game but I don't see a problem arising from people showing their ass because of a little more beer.
