Fearless predictions for the upcoming season

Will the non-BCS have a Heisman contender? Will it have a first-round NFL draft pick? Will Temple improve on its 4-8 season? I have all your answers here in my fearless predictions for the non-BCS/Independent season.

1. SMU and Temple will have the same amount of wins this season.

2. Tulsa and BYU will each finish with one loss.

3. Boise State will lose on the blue field this year for the first time since 2001.

4. Notre Dame will lose three games this year.

5. Houston will beat Oklahoma State on Sept. 6

6. One non-BCS player will be in the Heisman talk at the end of the year.

7. Navy will win the Commander-in-Chief Trophy -- again.

8. Chase Holbrook (New Mexico State), Max Hall (BYU), Nate Davis (Ball State), and whomever plays QB at Tulsa will all pass for more than 4,000 yards this season.

9. Idaho will go winless this season (let the e-mail fly, Vandals fans).

10. East Carolina will beat a team from Virginia this season.

11. Hawaii will revert back to post June Jones form.

12. Ball State will be the best team no one is talking about come midseason.

13. Kent State will have a first-round NFL draft pick.

14. The Sun Belt will have four bowl-eligible teams this season.

15. Western Kentucky will not be credited with a Sun Belt win this season.



The four bowl eligible teams?? UL, and who else? ;^)

My assumption is that the 4 he is thinking of come from this group:

FAU
TROY
UL
Middle
ULM
ASU

In that order, I think if we pull four, then it will be FAU, Troy, UL and Middle. ULM and ASU are dark horses.

UNT, FIU and WKU (provisional) will be on the outiside looking in. The good news if he is correct is that WKU will not get that SBC victory vs us, since we are not playing them this year. WKU will get that victory vs FIU or UNT. The other teams from the SBC on the schedule include Troy, FAU and Middle.

Duh(Graham)... They're not official Conference members until 2009, if I'm not mistaken. As for the 'Belt having 4 bowl-eligible teams, I find that a bit of a stretch, but we COULD have 3!!!

I agree i think havin 4 is likley a bit of a stretch but having 3 would be great , esp if we are one of them
