He was talking about the folks in the media outside of Lafayette. I disagree to some extent there as a reporter for the TP attended a QB club meeting two years ago. There he asked why we placed such an emphasis on eventually achieving the UL name. I tried to steer the conversation back to the program but he was adamant about continuing to discuss the name thing.

Besides LSU and UNO fans I have rarely met anyone who cares enough about our name. They call us UL_L or Louisiana Lafayette because that is what we are known by. Seriously, a guy from Ole Miss could give a flip what we are called. Until the national media calls us UL or Louisiana we will be known by all of these other names.

_ I'm pretty sure the problem starts with Julie Dronet in Logos and Licensing. She is the one who restricts use of names and logos to various media outlets. It needs to be her job to contact the Athletic Dept. and the media and request that they only use certain names and logos. This is with the understanding that Athletics needs to take the initiative and hold a meeting w/ the Logos and Licensing Dept. to downsize the numerous names that are used. _

I suspect that Julie Dronet did nothing without Dr. A's approval. The question is, what direction will Dr. S give her?

Speaking of malice. Don't make me mention the pure hatchet job Josh Peters of the T-P did on Anthony Johnson a week or two before the NCAA Finals in New Orleans. That deal surely had origins at Uneaux (imo).
