Just for clarification, it was NOT a technical foul. It was a flagrant one called on Kelvin Downs for enough of an elbow to be ruled flagrant. In a technical foul, it's two shots and then you go back to the possession. In the case of a flagrant one foul, it's two shots PLUS possession of the ball.
It was Cajuns' ball anyway. But it wasn't a technical foul.
It's been eleven years since we won 20 in the regular season. In the last nine games, we have two losses, both on the road, against the top 2 teams in the league. I really don't give a rat's behind if we have three non D-1 wins. We lost twenty games last year. This year we won 20.
And, we're doing it the right way. I realize to many of you that doesn't matter (not pointing one at you, bear).
We may have to do some real rebuilding next year because we may lose two guys in addition to the seniors. Hopefully not.
Because if we only lose the three seniors we've got a chance to be really, really, really good.
Did we turn the corner, or a dead end. Graduating Mbamalu as a senior, strong possibility of EP going pro early, Long always count him when he is actually on the floor. He may go pro as well. If CDS strikes we lose our top three players, and I can hear it now, we be young as we head into the second half of a decade of rebuilding.
We currently have three outstanding prospects assuming they all make it to campus, looking to sign one more, and if Long and EP stay we may indeed have turned the corner. This was the season to make hay, and we still can, but next season is a fog??????????????????????????
Yea, well let's schedule a few more non scholarship programs to come in and pad Marlins resume. Florida is ranked number one, and will likely be the number one seed in the tournament. No doubt if we somehow manage to get into the big dance, we will lose at least one seeding position due to those three non scholarship programs, of course you cannot get seeded much lower than 16, so maybe it matters not. Wins against Savannah State, North Florida, and Jacksonville would be a plus for a team in our seeding zone, but a minus to a potential one seed.
Glad we got 17 1A wins, not deluding myself into saying Oh Joy, a twenty win season.
There is no question in my mind Rimmer had only four fouls when he was disqualified. At first I thought it was my mistake...that I may have missed something....and it wouldn't have been the first time. But the PA announcer said four, I said four, out coaching staff said four, they're play by play radio guy said four, the scoreboard said four.
Shades of Casey Green at Texas Tech.
