UL - Louisiana head men’s tennis coach Mark Jeffrey announced three signees for the 2008-09 tennis season – Neil Schneider (Katy, Texas), Javier Pulgar Garcia (Madrid, Spain) and Yanick Mandl (Zurich, Switzerland).
“These three young men will instantly make a difference on our team,” Jeffrey commented on his first signing class. “They come from strong tennis backgrounds, which will only increase our depth for next year.”
Schneider, a graduate of Katy High School in Houston, Texas, was a standout player for his school and state. Currently ranked No. 15 in Texas and one of the top-5 doubles players in the state; Schneider has captured several state championships and has been a finalist in Super Major Zone Championships.
“Neil brings diversity to our team,” remarked Jeffrey. “Neil will be the complete student-athlete striving hard in a tough academic environment whilst also thriving on the tennis court to be among the best athletes in the Sun Belt Conference.”
