UL softball, co-coach Michael Lotief said third baseman Melissa Verde is rehabbing after undergoing knee surgery three weeks ago back home in Texas.

Verde played most of last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee while chasing a foul ball in a March 20 exhibition game against Team USA. She hit .294 with a team-high 46 walks, seven home runs and 42 RBIs as a sophomore to help the Cajuns finish tied for fifth at the Women's College World Series.
