Remember, this team did this without two potential starters, or at least valuable backups off the bench. Randall Daigle, last years starter at PG and either starter this year or the first PG off the bench is still hurt and hopefully expected to come back within a week or so. Also we were missing Laryan Gary, another valuable bench guy who has the ability to start on this team.
If we can get both of these guys back for the stretch run and we can stay relatively healthy thoughout the rest of the season I think we are in line for a conference championship. UNT, is a tough team, with a great record early in the season, but they played a realitively soft schedule.
There 7 wins have come vs:
Non Division I Cameron
Sam Houston State (1-5)
Indiana State (1-8)
Jackson State (1-8)
Sam Houston State (1-5)
New Mexico State (4-4)
Houston Baptist (0-10)
The combined record for there 6 wins vs D-1 teams is 5-40.
The two teams they have lost to, were a very good Oklahoma State and a very good Houston team, teams that have throurougly destroyed them by a combined 35 points.
Although it will be a step up in competition to play them, considering our last two oponents (La College and ULM), I don't think they are as good as there record indicates.
Geaux Cajuns!!!!!!
