Ryan McCoy's Game is Eye Catching

_ Yeah your right, the offense does get turnover happy when we try to run an actual offense to milk clock. Also agree that Barr needs to touch it more. He is a large, imposing man, just by looking at him you would think he dominates.

As for Lago, I think it's a mental thing with him. He's trying way to hard not to mess up and thats when you play terrible. _

Lago can shoot the ball when he's open as most decent D-1 players can do. His problem is shot selection and at PG, you shouldn't have shot selection issues because you should be the last guy shooting unless you get a layup.

Barr is big but he is a very good and underrated low post scorer. He has great touch around the basket, generates a lot of double teams leaving guys open and he shoots the FT really well unlike Adeife, Wallace and Batiste. This offense should dribble penetrate and dish and then get the ball to the low post when Barr is in every time.

_ Unfortunately, this team doesn't play real well when they try to be patient. We don't run enough of an established offense to get guys open and good shots so we typically have to penetrate and dish which is why the offense is so much better with McCoy in. Shot selection is still an issue with guys like Tyren Johnson and Lago and we don't rotate the ball enough each time down the court to create an open shot. Barr should touch the ball every time down the court. Whether he shoots or dishes, the D has to converge on him and this will get some open looks on the perimeter.

  Following a slow start to his basketball career at UL, Ryan McCoy has emerged as a potent scorer. But the transfer from Midland (Texas) College hasn't really had a choice as the Cajuns have battled injuries to key players all season.

McCoy has been at his best in the past three games, scoring in double figures each time. The junior point guard is averaging 15 points and shooting 51.6 percent (16 of 31) from the floor during that stretch.

His career-high scoring night came on Dec. 21 in a 56-54 loss to Sam Houston State. McCoy poured in a game-high 21 points, hitting eight of 10 shots from the floor. That included four 3-pointers. He also added six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
