Brignac spending summer with old team
The talented pitcher is spending most of her time at the Louisville Slugger Independence Day Softball Tournament in the dugout cheering on her Louisiana Voodoo teammates.
Which is quite a change considering she's somewhat of a celebrity back home after leading Louisiana-Lafayette to the 2008 Women's College World Series and a No. 6 ranking as a freshman.
Brignac's coach has even nicknamed her the Pistol Pete (Maravich) of softball.

It is a damn shame the Olympics has dropped softball. They keep the most stupid sports that most olympic fans do not care about. Softball is a great game and very entertaining to watch.

Why not go somewhere like UCLA?
"I've been asked that question a thousand times," Brignac said. "It isn't about going to the No. 1 school or something, it's about making a difference somewhere. And I'm a Louisiana girl. ... I wanted to make a difference in my state."
If we could find "football" kids that had this viewpoint and talent, we would be top 25 every year - assuming they had the correct coaching !!!
