Any word on the search for a new OC? I know Jay won't comment because he hates to speculate.

    UL Football 2008 Schedule Question

I'm trying to plan my wedding, and I can't find a 2008 football schedule...can anyone point me in the right direction. I may end up putting it on an LSU game day, but I'll be damned if I do it on a Cajuns game day! Thanks.

You have a few options here.

One, you can find a schedule and put the wedding on a saturday when there is no Cajun game. The problem with that is that there is the liklihood that you'll be missing games in the future because you'll have to be spending the weekend celebrating your wedding anniversary.

Two, schedule it on a friday nite. You may still have to miss the game on saturday, but at least your friends that are Cajun fans will appreciate not having to miss a saturday game.

Or three, do like I did and tell her that you're not getting married during football season because its destined to cause conflict for many years to come. Then, put forth a motion to do it in late april, which is after basketball season, but before the baseball postseason. If you're feeling lucky, you may also want to propose a date around the first weekend in April so that your honeymoon can take place at the Final Four.

You could do it in the summer, but I've been in a few summer weddings and nobody wants to be in a monkey suit in that heat.

While I'm offering some really great priceless advice, you might also want to look at procreating at the beginning of football season. That way you won't be having to be host a house full of rugrats at your house for your kids birthday party when you could be at Cajun Field. I approached mine with that, and she said "we can schedule our wedding around football season if you must, but I'll be damned if youre going to schedule the birth of our children around it too!" I guess its all about give and take. :-)

As I currently understand it, the Cajuns only open date is Sept. 13. Lsu's is Nov. 8. Cajuns' official schedule has not been posted yet because they are waiting on one contract.

Correction: Lsu's open dates are Oct. 4 & Nov. 15. Cajuns' schedule will not be official until March 1 after submission to the Sun Belt office for possible TV games.

Someone said yesterday that we were waiting on one contract to be signed. We will only have 5 home games this year.
