K-State was good enough to beat the crap out of UT, in Austin, in '07. You're right that they haven't been as good in recent years, but I think that '08 might be their 3rd year with their new coach, so if his system is starting to work, they might be coming around. they were 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the Big XII in '07.

If UL's defense is improved next season, then I would say I like our chances against any of those teams. But, if not, then we might see a lot of the same. I know we have some nice JUCO recruits coming in next year, but they haven't done it on this level yet, and being that K-state is our first game, it might be a tough one. Again, that being said, it will be their first game also.

I keep hearing about JUCO recruits but have only seen 2 committments so far, a DB and DT. The DT is apparently a 4 star. What others are we talking about as I haven't seen any other names mentioned ? We are in desparate need of Defensive Linemen. What DLs do we have coming back this year? What kind of depth will we have on the D line?

    Kent State
    UTEP
3 Sunbelt teams(Ark St., MT, FIU?)

    that'll work.

We need to have 12 DB's on the field against Kansas State. This year they threw the ball over 40 times per game. The good news is their QB threw 18 TD's to 11 INT's. However he will be a Junior next year and will show some improvement. Other good news is that they lose Jordy Nelson, their leading receiever in most statistical categories. They also lose their leading rusher but the guy next in line is very capable of handling the load.

Oh well, the men's basketball team is 4-0 in conference and it's almost baseball season. Why in the world am I looking at this stuff. Oh yeah, I'm bored at work. GEAUX CAJUNS

No apparently about about it, Glazer is a Scout 4 star DT. Will that translate to on the field success....That remains to be seen, but for those of us that are into ****, yes he is a 4 star recruit.(shamefully, I get caught up in the star thing too, sometimes! ) We also have a linebacker coming in that got very favorable comments from the staff at USC(Southern Cal) when he attended camp this past summer. Another kid that for some reasons fell thru the cracks......we'll take him!

all this info can be found at www.louisiana.scout.com

I noticed on Scout that UL is ranked 105 out of 118 teams with the 9 committments we have so far, including Glazer. That doesn't say much for our class so far. How many recruits do we need to sign this year? I believe OT Odom will be counted against this class which should improve our ranking.

I know everyone says don't worry about rankings. But, if we were ranked #50, for example, it would be a big deal. That we are ranked so low is of concern. Last year, we were ranked in the lower half of the SBC. Our won-loss record seems to reflect our ranking.

If you look closely, if you go by number of stars, why are we ranked behind Ball State @ 2.09 avg, La Tech @ 1.70 avg?? We are avg 2.11 stars. ULM is slightly ahead @ 2.15.

Our recruiting class was awesome last year. So far this year its dynamite. Its combination of stars and # of commitments that gets your ranking. I'll never figure it out. Personally, dont care to.

Desormeaux is not QB next year. But hopefully we can win anyway.

Why would Desormeaux not be QB next season?
